Young ukulele players are an inspiration for us all! All it takes is practice, practice, practice!
How do you stop your fingers from hurting when playing ukulele?
- Take a break and massage your fingers and arms.
- Stand up and stretch to loosen up the muscles in your shoulders and neck.
- Apply less pressure with your left hand. It’s the placement of your fingers that matters more than the amount of pressure.
- Switch strumming fingers. For example, if you’ve been using your index finger, try switching to your thumb or other fingers for a while.
- Strum softer and lighter.
- Keep practicing daily because the more often you practice, the tougher your hands will get.
