Evergreen Bulletin Boards
Musical Genres Bulletin Board
This idea came from a post on a Facebook music group page. This clever teacher created a bulletin board using-
- music genre posters
- tap microphone buttons

Using the mic buttons, record a snippet of a song example for each genre and use command strips to adhere them to the poster/bulletin board.

SOAR Music Hot Air Balloon Bulletin Boards
These inspirational boards can be in so many fun color schemes. Here you see primary colors and pastels. The hot air balloon is narrowing ovals stacked on top of one another. When you make them yourself, you can fit to any size display area.

MUSIC Acrostic Bulletin Board

This elementary music bulletin board has so much flexibility to the connections and integrations with other subjects.
Fun color combinations make each of the five areas POP. Besides pastels, other color theme possibilities are rainbow, gradient of one color, earth tones, vintage, etc.
Let Music Be Part of Your World

This underwater-themed bulletin board uses paper plates cut in half for the jellyfish with dimensional ribbons and streamers as the tentacles. Each jellyfish has a musical term on it.
The fish are plates with a cutout triangle for the mouth and the triangle becomes the tail. The fish have music notes and rests for the eyes and scales.
Add paper seaweed that is the same shape cut multiple times. The border is also a same-shape time-saving trick with a fish shape, an oval with a triangle attached, and 3 circular bubbles. Production line assembly! Cheap, fun, and a great way to connect to the movie Little Mermaid. Give it a go!
Making Fin-tastic Music, Under the Sea
A bulletin board made almost entirely of paper plates! The fish are plates with a cut out triangle for the mouth and the triangle serves as a tail for the fish.
You’re a Shining Star…

Using Earth, Wind, and Fire’s iconic song “Shining Star” helps create a bulletin board that speaks to individual student talents.
It’s an SEL jumping-off point for self-discovery, affirmation, and worth. A great discussion prompt would be, “Which one or more of these stars means the most to you? If the one you’re thinking of isn’t up there, tell me so I can add it.”
Planet Talent is a circle with some dry-brushed white paint (or glitter would be fun). There’s lots of lettering, and then the stars that detail the talent VERBS of music-making. Use aluminum foil for the border and a few other glittering stars.
Classroom teachers could use verbs such as reader, writer, creator, scientist, engineer, designer, problem-solver, and other action items.

Add a little paper seaweed and some fun additions such as caps, tiaras, headphones, and a microphone. For the bulletin board BORDER, use cut in half rainbow party plates from Dollar Tree. They are so cute and give it that underwater iridescence. Cheap, fun, and a great way to connect to the movie, “The Little Mermaid.”
Other titles:”Making Fin-tastic (Choices, Students, Friends) Under the Sea.” Or “Fin-tastic Students, Learning, Helping, Kindness, etc. Under the Sea.”

Spring Bulletin Boards
Music Is Blooming

This design is so adaptable! You can write anything on the petals from elements of music to instruments of the orchestra!
The center could say “Woodwinds” and then the petals could represent lots of woodwind instruments THEN in a month, change to a different instrument family. Your base could stay the same for 4 months as you change out the instruments.

With the hot air balloon bulletin board, is that from a kit or made from scratch? If a kit, do you have a link?
Unfortunately, no kit. But I can explain how to do it. Looking at the red, green, and blue balloon, start with a round green circle for the base, the main part of the balloon. Then cut out a blue oval slightly smaller than the green circle and place it on top of the green. The blue oval blocks most of the green except the sides. Then cut out a red oval slightly smaller than the blue and put it on top of the blue. Again, the red blocks out most of the blue except the sides. Then end with the very narrow green. Cut a small green oval for the “inside” of the balloon that shows. The basket is a square and you can use a marker to outline and add the ropes.
